As a term, theory means theoretical knowledge. Theory education in music refers to the education of musical concepts. It is in question that the education, which is called harmony education in Western Music, is defined in our system as the theory of Turkish Classical Music. Theory education is given in order to make up for this deficiency. This training is given to people who have developed themselves in terms of instruments and sounds, but do not know how to read the notes. In other words, training is provided for people who do not know what the signs indicated next to the notes mean to make up for these deficiencies. As a result of this training, it is now possible to master all technical details in terms of notes and music while playing an instrument. In order to learn what certain images mean in Turkish Music, theoretical knowledge is required. The alphabet of music is notes. A person who plays an instrument without learning the notes has more difficulty than someone who knows the notes. Before you start reading a book, you need to learn to read, and to be able to read, you need to learn the alphabet. Music and notation knowledge is open to development and it is possible to learn with this effort. After the note information is completed, the instrument can be played. Notes have both names and symbols. These; Do (C), Re (D), Mi (E), Fa (F), Sol (G), La (A), Si (B). These notes are the main notes and do not change anywhere in the world. This is one of the proofs that music is universal in the world. The place where the notes are placed is called the porte. Each note has a fixed place on the stave. Although there are 7 notes in music, the number of voices is quite high when the vocal range is taken into account.

The kanoun, which is the sine qua non of Turkish classical music, is a member of the stringed instruments family with an impressive and powerful voice. It has a slightly different structure compared to other stringed instruments. The instrument, which is said to have been invented by Farabi, was also used by the Sumerians and Egypt in ancient times. Consisting of 4 or 27 frets, there are 3 strings in each fret of the qanun, and these strings are usually made of nylon. While the kanoun is mostly produced from trees such as sycamore and linden, it can also be made from thick plywood today.
